Experience: I was born and raised in a town of 700 people in Kansas. We lived on a farm and my summers were spent in the field, either on a tractor or a wheat truck! My brother and I raised hogs for college money, and we also had a firework stand during the 4th that was our responsibility. We definitely learned the value of hard work! Why JBF? I have many friends that have been greatly blessed by JBF, Tulsa for many years. I am a bargain hunter myself, and I love how organized and well-planned the JBF sales are. I also think it is such a great option for consignors to be able to donate their unsold items to a charity. All the way around, the sale is a huge blessing to so many families. When Stacey started talking about wanting to buy a JBF franchise, I thought it was a wonderful idea. I encouraged her to find a friend who would help her. Little did I know that God's plan was for me to be that friend! Goals:
We are having great fun educating the Springfield families about JBF. We would love to be able to say "JBF" and have everyone know exactly what we are talking about! Our goal is to bless as many families as we can with this sale, while we are "havin' fun in a mommy kinda way!" Interests: I absolutely love being a mom,therefore my time is spent: watching football and baseball games, playing in the dirt, watching sword fights, throwing rocks in the pond, riding four-wheelers, and lots of other exciting adventures! I am reminded daily to appreciate the little things in life...like bugs, rocks, litttle army men, and hot wheels in the bottom of the washing machine! And yes...I love to scrapbook!!! | stacey merrellLocation: Springfield, Missouri Franchise Owner Since: June 2006 Family I have been married to Brian for 16 years. He is King of his Own World and the love of my life. We are parents to the next Superman (Greyson age 10) who spends most of his time testing his Super Powers and choosing his "cover career". Our sweet girl child is Britton (9) who fills our lives with laughter and sunshine at every turn. She will do just about anything to bring smiles to our faces. She beams with pride if she hits the mark and causes belly laughing.
Experience: I was born and raised in a small town in Southern Idaho where "work experience" begins at an early age. Mine started with farm work and continued to bounce from one side of the spectrum to the other. Such as Hallmark clerk to construction flagger in the Nevada desert, on to U.S. Postal Service grunt to an aid in a hospital specializing in brain damage, ending with third grade teacher and the best (so far) - home schooling momma.
Why JBF? Frankly, we would not have been able to provide most of the kid stuff we have had over the years had it not been for the fabulous Tulsa sale! During each sale my husband would say, "Why don't you do this?". It never seemed to be the "right time" in my motherhood stages to fit in one more thing. But each year I secretly thought about it. The opportunity to offer a tried and true path to so many others was what I'd always wanted to do b/c the blessings JBF offers are BOUNDLESS for shoppers and consignors! When Brian found out there were franchises for sale he GREATLY encouraged me to consider purchasing one. I finally decided to seek advice from my very level-headed and very trustworthy friend Marcy and then... placed it in God's hands. Had I known the the blessings of friendships He would bestow on us, I would have jumped at Brian's first suggestion years ago! I have learned there is no "right time", just "God's time".
Goals:
We want our shoppers and consignors to have had such a fabulous experience that the last question asked as they walk out the door is, "When's the next sale?!". Then we'll know we've done our jobs correctly!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? FANTASY: Touring around the States in a huge, luxury motor home with the fam on an endless field trip with no worries in the world. REALITY: We hope to see JBF Springfield Sale the most anticipated event in the community and surrounding areas.
Hobbies and Interests: Being a teacher at heart, my interests range far and wide and seem to take the smallest of sparks to ignite them. The simple question of, "Mommy, what kind of bird is making that sound?" will send us on an impromptu field trip to the Nature Center followed by a detour to Home Depot to pick up supplies to make a bat house because of the awesome benefits they provide that we learned about at the zoo...you know, since it was so close to our first stop. My hobbies are my passions. I used to be a huge scrapper. Now I'm a head-over-heels momma blogger! I love to go camping with the little fam when we can squeeze it in. When I have an unexpected day or free time my two faves are: Sneakin' down to SDC or reading a smutty/mystery/action packed/lovey-dove novel. Which song best describes you or your philosophy on life? America the Beautiful is filled with eloquence, kindness, beauty and hope. What better characteristics to try to model in your life?
