2. Bring your items tagged, prepped (see ITEM PREP below), and sorted by type, gender, & size. Your items will be inspected and you will place them on the sales floor.  Please allow one hour for this process.

*Consignors with Inspection Perfection may bypass kids clothing inspection (see IP section below)

*Please watch your email for the Drop Off Details the weekend before the event.

All unclaimed items and those marked “donate” are loaded at 9:01pm.  Be sure to designate on your profile and your tags whether you are donating unsold items.

1. Bring (or send with person coming) the card you were given at drop off

2. Collect your unsold items sorted by consignor #

3. Have staff confirm that you are leaving with YOUR items.  Please note that any items left behind will be donated.

4. Check the “missing tags and stained” area in the lobby for items that may be yours.

Our breakdown staff is wonderful, but  we cannot ensure 100% sort accuracy.  Please note that JBF is not responsible for missing items. That said, if we know AT PICKUP that you are missing something, we are often able to locate it on the spot.

Please consider marking the "donate" option on your tags.  Items go to a great cause and help families in need. (a tax deduction receipt can be requested)

Bags & Baby Carriers

Empty and inspect all items carefully to make sure items have not been recalled, stained, damaged or are missing pieces. WE CANNOT TAKE COACH PURSES.

Package:  Zip-tie bags and carriers to a hanger. Breast pumps are not hung. Zip ties are available upon request to attach high-priced items (over $20) to the racks and shelving units. 

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Zip tie or safety pin tag to item.  If item has multiple pieces, be sure all pieces are included and list number of items on JBF tag description.


Bedding & Textiles

Bedding sizes accepted:  bassinet-queen. Please be selective when selling linens. Check carefully for stains. WE CANNOT SELL BUMPER PADS.

Package:  Put sets together in giant clear plastic bags or on hangers (HANGERS PREFERED).  Multiple hangers may be zip-tied together. Secure  pieces so items stay together.

Price:  Price to sell! Shoppers are less likely to purchase these items used, so prices have to be low. Try to price 50%-75% off retail.

Tag:  If bedding is in a bag, attach tag securely with packaging tape and use a good description. If hung, attach tag directly to item with a medium to large safety pin.

Books, Games, & Media

We only accept child/teen appropriate items in this area.  We do not accept reference books or books for adults.  Games and puzzles MUST have all pieces.   Media and electronics MUST WORK!  Please include working batteries. 

Package:  Use ziplocs or clear cling wrap to hold  items together. Be sure that parts/games to video game systems are secured well.  High dollar electronics and Video games may be placed in a locked cabinet on sale dates if requested.

Price:  Prices can range widely in this category. Price to sell especially for books & DVDs as there are always lots to choose from at the sale.  Price electronics at around 50%-60% off retail.

Tag:  Attach your tag to the item or bag with clear Scotch Brand (other brands leave residue) packing tape. Hole-punch JBF tag and zip-tie to sets.

Clothing & Accessories

Children's clothing Newborn through size 20.  For Juniors & Maternity, we will ONLY ACCEPT LAST SEASON and will be VERY PICKY.  Check Quick Links section above for what we accept at each season.

The newer the item looks (and the better it smells), the better it will sell. We cannot accept  stained/damaged items or outaded styles.  Please launder your clothing items, and fix missing buttons, loose hems/seams/threads. Please secure all buttons, snaps, and zippers. This will ensure that there are no defects in the clothing.

Please note that there is a recall on drawstrings, so please remove the drawstrings from hoodies, jackets, joggers, etc under size 14/16 in order to sell them. 

We have a limit of 300 hanging items per consignor number.

Package & Hang:  

Hangers - Please hang clothes so the hanger hook points to the left (like a question mark).  Hang size 0-2T clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 3+ clothing on adult-size hangers. Clothing on too small hangers often ends up on the floor!  We only accept plastic tubular or wire hangers.  The plastic “store” hangers break easily and are not accepted. 

Clothing Sets - Safety pin to attach clothing sets securely, with bottom garment hung on the backside of the shirt, so the FRONT of both pieces faces out.

Pants/Shorts - Use a medium to large safety pin to attach pants to the top of the hanger.  Place pins close together so the garment will not slide. 

Accessories - Onesies and leggings must be hung.  Other accessories may be placed a clear zip-lock bag or pinned together. Please be sure to label your tag well and tape bags shut with clear packing tape.  Please do NOT bag onesies, bibs, cloth diapers, or burp cloths.  Hang onesies and pin bibs/diapers/cloths together so they can be checked for stains by shoppers.


Hanging Clothing - Start at $3 for single pieces in generic brands.  Add $1 each for larger sizes, name brands, formal, and heavy/winter. 

Sets (under size 6)- Pin sets together to price around  $5.00.  Add $1 each for larger sizes, name brands, formal, and heavy/winter.


Hanging Clothing - Attach tag with a safety pin on the right side of the garment  If you use a tagging gun,  DO NOT put a tagging barb through part of the clothing--use the seam allowance in neck or right underarm seam ONLY.  Please make sure consignor tags are secure and easily visible to the customers.

Furniture & Baby Equipment

Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, cribs, strollers, bath seats, baby walkers, car seats & car seat accessories must be checked for safety recalls, must have all parts, and be in good condition.

All cribs MUST be manufactured AFTER June 28, 2011.  Please bring Crib Waiver for all cribs. 

All carseats must be less than 5 years old.  Please bring a Car Seat Waiver for all car seats, booster seats, car seat bases, or infant carriers.  The required instruction manuals may be brought in paper copy or on a disc (Most manufacturers provide them online if you no longer have one).

We accept ONLY children's furniture - beds, desks, side tables, dressers, etc. 

Package:  If item has multiple pieces use packaging tape, or zip-ties to keep items attached together. If wooden furniture has loose parts, use clear plastic wrap to secure item. All furniture and equipment must be assembled by consignor at drop off.  Batteries must be included, if applicable.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well and rarely last to the discount days.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item with Scoth Brand (other brands cause damage) packing tape or hole-punch JBF tag and zip tie it to item.

Infant Items

Nursing covers & pillows, feeding items, monitors, safety items, diapering & toileting items, rattles, and more. We CANNOT accept used pacifiers or nipples.  Sell bottles without nipples unless they are new in original sealed packaging. Please check for safety recalls on all items that you consign.  Info on tagging bibs, burp rags, etc in "clothing & accessories" section.  Info on crib sheets and other bedding in "bedding" section.

Package:  If item has multiple pieces, use Scotch Brand (other brands cause damage) packing tape, tagging gun (through seams ONLY), safety pins, or clear self-seal bags to keep items attached together and clearly visible to shoppers. Batteries must be included, if applicable.

Price:  Price 50% - 75% off retail. Items in great condition tend to sell very well.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item or clear self-seal bag with clear packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Room Decor

We do NOT accept knick-knacks of ANY kind.  We ONLY accept CHILDREN’s Room Décor.  You may consign storage solutions (baskets, bin, shelving), furniture, & decor (lamps, kids’ wall hangings, mirrors, piggy banks, etc)

Package:  If selling multiple pieces together, be sure that all pieces are secured together with zip ties or using ziplock bags.

Price:  Price to sell!  These items are not the primary reason shoppers come to JBF, so price 60%-90% off retail!

Tag:  Secure the tag to the item to ensure that the tag does not fall off during the sale and so that item is not damaged when the tag is removed after purchase.  Scotch Brand packing tape is the only brand that does NOT leave a residue when removed.


Make sure that shoes are clean a! We will be Vnd smell fresh!  We will be VERY selective with shoes during Consignor Drop Off & Inspection, and any shoes that are not in EXCELLENT condition will either be returned to the consignor or held back in HOLD until shoe display racks empty out or until discount days.  Shoes must be current season.

Package: Fasten shoes together with zip ties. For infant shoes or small shoes without laces, you may put the shoes in a clear zip-lock bag. We prefer no shoe boxes. However, if shoes are in the box, please remove the lid, secure it to the bottom of the box, and secure the shoes to the box (closed boxes do not sell well).

Price: Shoes must be in good condition and should start at $3.00 for infant/toddler; Add $1 each for larger size, name brand, or heavy/winter.  Junior shoes may be sold as well and may be priced higher, but they must be JUNIORS style rather than women's.

Ride-on toys, block sets, dolls, remote control cars, outdoor toys, learning toys, and more. All toys must be checked for safety recalls before consigning.  Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores, or use an “older” battery from something in your home and keep new ones for the item you took the battery from).

Package:  Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in self-seal bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.

Price:  Price 50% - 90% off retail.

Tag:  Attach JBF tag directly to item with Scotch Brand (other brands cause damage) packaging tape or hole-punch JBF tag and tie it to item.

Tagging Supplies

Supplies-  You will/may need the following:

1.  Wire or Plastic Tubular Hangers.  We do not accept items hung on store plastic hangers because they break when shoppers are trying to sort through the THOUSANDS of hanging items.

2.  Medium to Large size safety pins.

3.  WHITE cardstock (NOT PAPER) to print tags.

4.  Computer or Mobile Device & Printer

5.  Zip-ties

6.  Ziplock bags

7.  Scotch brand packing tape (other brands leave residue and damage items)

8.  Clear plastic wrap/shrink wrap.

9. Scissors & cleaning supplies

10.  Tagging Gun (optional and MUST only tag through left armpit seam, back of neck seam allowance, or manufacturers tag)

Entering & Printing Tags

Entering Tags-  Follow these steps to enter tags:

1.  Log into your JBF profile page and click "Tagging".  (You may also sign up for events and shifts on your profile page when registration is open).

2.  Hover over "create tags" and select "basic entry" for items that are not similar, or "rapid entry" to enter several items of the same category and size all at once.

3.  Select a category and size for your item.  Then type in a detailed description and a price for your item.

4.  Check the appropriate boxes for allowing your items to reduce (or not) on discount days as well as for donating or picking up your items after the sale. (Defaults can be edited in "My Settings")

5.  You MUST save your entered tags on that screen before moving forward to print or create more tags.

Printing Tags-   Follow these steps to print tags:

1.  Be sure to select ALL the tags you wish to print before printing. (Use "tools" to select all unprinted tags at once).

2.  Hover over the "print" icon on your screen and then select either PDF or HDML version to print. 

3.  Please use cardstock and the normal print setting for ink usage.  Tags printed too light or too dark setting, or those not printed on WHITE cardstock will not scan.  Tags printed on paper often fall off and items cannot be identified or sold.

Inspection Perfection

If you have 3 or fewer items rejected, you will be added to the IP list.  This means you bypass clothing inspection during drop off at the next sale.   As long as you do not have ANY items pulled from the sale floor for defects at subsequent sales, you will retain that status!  This saves you lots of time at Drop Off, so CHECK THOSE ITEMS WELL AND ONLY BRING YOUR BEST!

Valet Tagging Program

No time to tag? Let us do it for you! We prep your items and you earn 45%...50% if you are a JBF BFF!  Our valet taggers have Inspection Perfection status, so you also get to BYPASS inspection at the sale!  Valet Consignor spaces are limited and will close 2 weeks before the event OR when spaces fill—and they DO fill quickly!
